I don’t know many places in the world that don’t have an abundance of shipping pallets. They can usually be found for free or extremely inexpensive and the uses for them are endless! Chances are pretty good that you have seen at least a few different projects that include the reuse and repurposing of this versatile and inexpensive resource. While not all of them are realistic or even suit your needs, there are some that are so useful, they have been featured and talked about more than most.
When sourcing your pallets, be sure to check whether or not the wood has been treated and if there are signs of rot. If a stack of pallets has been sitting in the elements a long time (particularly in wet conditions), be careful before committing your project to the materials.
From the garden and patio to making furniture or wall treatments, the common pallet has made its mark in the reuse, recycle, and repurposing world that will not soon fade. Imagine being able to make yourself a bed frame every bit as sturdy as a ‘regular’ store bought frame but at a mere fraction of the cost? You can even customize it and add different features not offered on traditional furniture.”
