Prepping for anything from a burn at a cookout to a full on economic disaster brings with it many challenges that go beyond the things you can buy. Your skills and mental aptitude largely determine your chances for actual success in a survival situation, not what gadgets you have. Furthermore, if you don’t have experience with using the gadgets you do have, you might as well not have them at all.
First, you must succeed at prepping to be able to succeed at surviving. There are numerous sites that offer tips, tricks, and tidbits of information on prepping, but few that get into the things that will ensure a level of success because honestly, most of those posts are just trying to sell you their product.
It can be easy to get lost and caught up in the fear mongering. By having a clear understanding of what it is you need, what will work for your family, and confident enough to make the right choices, you are already far ahead of the game. Prepping is what helps your chances of making it through a disaster. If you fail at prepping, you may fail in the aftermath, too.
