The average apartment in the United States is approximately 1,000-square-feet in size. If you think about it, that’s not very much (some people’s apartments are actually way smaller). This could cause someone to think, “Well I certainly don’t have enough space to become a prepper“, but this would be a lie. The truth is, people who live in apartments can prep- all it takes is some creativity and effort. Generally speaking, apartment preppers have two main things to worry about: A) Making space for all their supplies , and B) Protecting those supplies. I’ll be the first to admit, protecting an apartment from invaders is a lot more difficult than protecting a regular home (since you have less control). Nonetheless, it’s still possible.

As far as making space for supplies, you’ll want to food rotation storage shelves, as well as fit supplies in places like underneath your bed, in your closet, etc. The more creative you are, the easier this will be. Secondly, you’ll want to keep those supplies safe. This means staying quiet about you’re prepping endeavors. Under no circumstance should you utter one word about your prepping efforts to anyone. All that does is make you a target if and when SHTF. The less people who know about your resources, the better. It’s also recommended that you learn more about urban gardening. Believe it or not, it is possible to start a garden in an apartment (even small ones). Once you master the basics, you’ll be able to grow your own food indefinitely. But circling back to security, it’s arguably the most important thing you’ll need to worry about. After all, if you can’t keep your supplies safe from looters, then your efforts will have been wasted. For more details on how to accomplish all this and more, come checkout the full article!
