This design is for a cob oven, which uses an ingenious technique of combining clay, sand, straw and water to create a durable, highly insulated cooking dome. These supplies are easy to come by, and the base can be created using re-purposed materials. A bit more planning might be required than simply hiring someone else to build the oven, but you can’t beat homemade pizza plus bragging rights!
