With summer getting off to a great start, this means more time will be spent outside and that also includes mans best friend, your dog/s. If you are like me you may not own a dog house because your dogs are indoor dogs. Well, don’t spend hundreds of dollars buying one, build one.
I am pretty confident that in these dog house plans you will find one that will suit your garden and budget. I like the dog house in the picture above. I love the log cabin look of it.
If you went out and brought the wood for any of these plans I am guessing the total project would set you back 50 – 100 bucks. You can make your dog house cheaper and possibly even free by using reclaimed wood. Better yet do some searching on Craigslist for free wood and pallets.
If you are going to use pallets, please only use pallets that have the “HT” stamp on them. This means the pallets are heat treated and no harmful chemicals have been used to preserve the wood. The last thing you would want to do is used chemically treated wood and let your dog sleep in there.
