Its the time of year for chopping wood and stacking wood. We are looking over piles and preparing for those cold days ahead where the fire is all that warms us thoroughly. Even with modern heat there is nothing like the licking flames of a burning fire to warm you after a long day in the cold. Whether you have a wood stove or a standard fireplace you need wood to feed it. Don’t get me started on gas fireplaces. I am just not a fan and I think its a farce.
When you are storing wood you always have the issue of where and how to store it. Even more is how to travel with that wood. Don’t make the mistake of storing it too close to your home unless your house is brick. I had my porch eaten up by termites because I attempted to store wood too close to the home.
